Report: Kumail Nanjiani in Talks to Join Marvel in ‘The Eternals’

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Kumail Nanjiani could join the Marvel Cinematic Universe family in ‘The Eternals’, a film based on a Jack Kirby comic.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news earlier today. Kumail Nanjiani might be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe family in The Eternals, a film based on a Jack Kirby comic of the same name.

Kumail Nanjiani is an actor, stand-up comic, and Oscar nominee. THR reports that Nanjiani is currently in talks to join Angelina Jolie in her film The Eternals. Jolie plays a character called Sersi. Nanjiani’s character is unknown at the moment. The Jolie-led pic became one of several feature-length films Marvel slated to begin filming later in 2019. Another is Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson.

The Eternals will be helmed by Chloe Zhao. According to the film’s IMDb page, the movie will be about the “saga of the Eternals, a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilizations.”

Nanjiani is hilarious. He’s also a very good actor. He performs phenomenally on the HBO show Silicon Valley. His screenplay The Big Sick was quite good as well. Nominated for an Academy Award, even!

Marvel knows its bread and butter is in great and passionate storytelling, incredible graphics, and a healthy dose of humor. I think Nanjiani would be a great addition to the MCU.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

Have a marvelous day!
