Beauty and the Beast, released in 1991, was the first full-length animated feature to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards (the Oscars). She falls in love with the Beast, who has a true heart, and together they break the spell. The entire castle’s attendants, along with the Beast, return to their human forms.
