The new live-action Aladdin comes out in just a few days. There’s a lot to be excited about, but nothing is likely to cause as much conversation (dare I say controversy) as the new renditions of the classic Alan Menken songs from the original. Well, let the chatter begin! Disney has released the new live-action Aladdin soundtrack for fans to listen for free on YouTube and Vevo.

Personally, I have listened to the new versions (and the new song!), and I love them. Is it the same as the original? No, it’s not. This is a brand new movie for a whole new generation of Disney lovers, and I hope that the film instills a love for the Aladdin story with them as it did when I was younger.

There will always be people who aren’t happy with newer versions of “classic” works, especially when it comes to Disney. I’m a diehard Disney fan myself, so I absolutely get it. But I think that if people can come in and listen with an open mind (and with the idea that this isn’t supposed to be an exact replica of the OG Aladdin songs), they’ll be very happy with what they hear.

The songs from the new Aladdin soundtrack are all posted below so you can listen to them all in one place. It’s completely free to listen.

Give each one a try. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what you hear…

“Arabian Nights” from the Live-Action Aladdin Soundtrack
“Friend Like Me” from the Live-Action Aladdin Soundtrack
“Prince Ali” from the Live-Action Aladdin Soundtrack
“Speechless” from the Live-Action Aladdin Soundtrack
“A Whole New World” from the Live-Action Aladdin Soundtrack

So, what do you think? Is it your new favorite? Are you disappointed with any of the songs or the new way they’re being sung? Excited to see the performances in the film? Let me know in the comments!

To listen to the rest of the album, check it out on iTunes for purchase or stream on Apple Music.

Have a magical day!
