Willow Disney Plus Series (Details)
Disney and Lucasfilm have revealed that a new series is in the works, and it’s based on the Willow movie from 1987.
If you’re a fan of 80’s nostalgia, then you’re in for a treat…
Because:
- Ron Howard is executive producing it.
- Warwick Davis (the actor) is returning for a role in the new series as well.
The director of the series has been named, too. The show will be directed by Jon M. Chu, of Crazy Rich Asians fame.
The writing team is led by showrunners Jonathan Kasan, who also worked on Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Wendy Mericle, of Arrow.
Willow Disney Plus Release Date
While we don’t have specific information on the release date as of yet, we do know that the production is supposed to begin in 2021.

Naturally, this all depends on how the global health situation is going at that time…
But, hopefully, we can see Willow in action within the next year or so.

Willow Disney+ Plot Synopsis
As you might imagine, we don’t have anything remotely resembling a plot at this point.
The word is that the pilot episode has been written, at the very least, but in terms of specific details…
All plot details are being kept under wraps, for obvious reasons. Disney and Lucasfilm don’t want to spoil the fun!
Even so, if you want to catch up on the original Willow with Val Kilmer, Warwick Davis, Jean Marsh, and the rest of the clan, you can watch the movie on Disney Plus right now!
