People on social media and elsewhere online have heard some of the news and have been worried about the iconic theme parks in Orlando, Florida.
Thankfully, there is nothing to fear about Walt Disney World!
Is Disney World closing? No, Walt Disney World is not closing down. They are simply retiring (or “sunsetting”) some of their current, existing fireworks and other nighttime shows on display in the WDW Disney Parks.
With that question answered, let’s turn our attention to the main attraction of this particular article…
Is Disney Closing Happily Ever After at Walt Disney World?
Now, you may have heard that this year is the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary. That much is very true!
As a result, though, a lot of changes are happening in the Orlando Disney parks to celebrate and mark the occasion.
This year is a huge commemoration and celebration, so while many of our favorite rides and shows will be around for years to come…
Some of the nighttime displays and shows will “sparkle into Disney history,” as the official WDW website puts it.
One of those shows is “Happily Ever After”.

What is Happily Ever After at Disney World? Happily Ever After is a fun nighttime spectacle that takes place at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World. It involves exciting fireworks, beautiful projections, enchanting Disney music, and magical voiceover narration.

Is Disney closing Happily Ever After at Disney World? Yes, Walt Disney World will be closing/sunsetting the Happily Ever After nighttime show.
When is Happily Ever After closing at Disney World? The beloved “Happily Ever After” nighttime show will have its final performance on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. So, if you want to see this much loved production, you’ll need to visit the parks in Orlando on or before 9/29/2021.
Additionally, “EPCOT Forever” will also finish its limited-time run one day earlier, on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. So, if you want to see that one, you need to visit within about the exact same timeframe as for “Happily Ever After.”
That’s the big news.

What Will Replace Happily Ever After at Disney?
Since the two shows — Happily Ever After and EPCOT Forever — are both sparkling into Disney history, you’re probably wondering…
What is going to replace these two magical nighttime shows?

According to the official Disney World website, we have some very exciting nighttime shows to look forward to:
We also recently announced that all-new nighttime spectaculars “Disney Enchantment” and “Harmonious” would be debuting October 1 as part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration.

In other words, “Happily Ever After” and “EPCOT Forever” are going to be replaced with “Disney Enchantment” and “Harmonious.”
