Marvel ‘Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ on PS5 [Watch the Trailer]

PlayStation has released details and footage of their newest platform, the PS5, including an incredible trailer for Spider-Man: Miles Morales from Marvel Entertainment.

Who Is Miles Morales?

Here’s what you need to know first:

• Miles Morales is Spider-Man.
• Much like Peter Parker, Miles becomes the superhero through interaction with a spider that has gone through genetic engineering.
• There is a Miles Morales Spider-Man comic book series. Start reading it here.
• Mile was introduced cinematically in the 2018 movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
• The soundtrack for the 2018 film garnered high praise for being, well, totally awesome, if you ask me.
• PlayStation has a rich history of Spider-Man games, including 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man.
• The new game will appear on PS5 in time for Holiday Season 2020.

So, with all that in mind, what do know about the newest Spider-Man game from Marvel to appear for PlayStation?

What Is Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales on PS5?

First of all, the game will appear on the new platform, PS5, announced June 11, 2020.

PlayStation has long featured the PS4 as its flagship gaming system.

With the new PS5, they promise a brand new era of video games, storytelling, graphics, and a whole lot more.

The new Spider-Man game for the PS5 system is called Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Naturally, everyone (including me!) wants to know what the game will look like and feel like. What will the gameplay feature? How realistic are the graphics? These are just a few of the many questions floating around.

To answer this, we need to look at the only real resource we have, which is the trailer.

Now that you’ve seen it, let’s discuss…

In this first shot, we see Spider-Man taking on some kind of electric charge. The power seems to zap his costume, ultimately revealing Miles Morales’s face beneath the mask.

As we move through the trailer, we get some action shots, and it honestly just looks awesome.

It’s always a bit of guesswork to suss out what’s playable and what isn’t from a brand new video game trailer.

On the subject of gameplay and abilities, here’s what The Verge had to say:

While Sony’s announcement didn’t show off too much of the gameplay for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the teaser trailer does show off new abilities, like Miles’ electric venom blasts and stealth camouflaging, along with new features, like changing weather and daylight cycles, that didn’t appear in the original game.

With that in mind, we’ll probably just have to wait and see what all else comes out in the near future from Sony and PlayStation on this one.

Of course, it goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway… The graphics here are stunning and absolutely unreal. Just look at all the incredible detail work.

I’m personally pumped about all this. I’ve been holding out for the fifth generation PlayStation from Sony for a while now, so I’m very excited to see this happen.

And with a game like Spider-Man hitting the console right away, it promises to be a pretty epic beginning.
