Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2 – June 26

Original Release Date: Same as the expected date

Walt Disney Animation Studios opened its doors for this documentary series to detail the making of Frozen 2. 

On June 26, all 6 episodes will be available on Disney Plus.

Muppets Now – July 31

Original Release Date: Same as the expected date

This show will also have six episodes, but the series will be unscripted.

The series will center around Scooter.

Scooter is struggling to upload the new Muppets series for streaming because the rest of the gang keeps distracting him.

The Mandalorian Season 2 –  October 2020

Fortunately, The Mandalorian Season 2 completed filming before the global crisis happened.

Currently, the producers and editors are collaborating remotely for post-production work.

Based on Season 1, we might suspect that Season 2 of The Mandalorian will focus on the search for Baby Yoda’s home world, and even potentially reveal his species…

Sadly, there is no official teaser for this TV show…yet.

But we can rewatch the Season 1 trailer right here! 🙂

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – August 2020 (Not Final)

Original Release Date: August 2020

In this show, Falcon (Mackie) will return as the new Captain America after Steve Rogers handed him his famous shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

The Winter Soldier (Stan) joins him, and together, they fight as a duo.

Zemo (Bruhl), will be one of the series’ villains. 

Initially, Disney planned to release the TV show in August 2020, but the studio halted its production because of the global situation.

WandaVision – December 2020 (Not Final) 

Original Release Date: December 2020

WandaVision, described as a mega-event series, will revolve around Scarlet Witch (Olsen) and Vision (Bettany).

WandaVision will take place after the Avengers: Endgame events, and will most likely present how Vision will be revived after his death in Avengers: Infinity War. This moment really hurt the ole heartstrings… I’m excited to see Vision back in action again.

The events of the series might also give hints as to why Scarlet Witch is in Marvel’s upcoming film Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness.

However, just like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Disney paused the production for WandaVision because of the global crisis.

Marvel’s 616 (Working Title) – 2020

Original Release Date: 2020

This documentary series will explore the intersection among Marvel’s characters, stories, and creators, and the real world. 

Every episode will explain in detail the cultural and historical context of the stories of the Marvel Universe.

Initially slated for 2020, the release date for Marvel’s 616 has not yet been confirmed.

Unfortunately, no official trailer has been released for this show yet.

Disney TV Shows for 2021

But wait, there’s more!

Let’s take a quick sneak peek at the great Disney Plus TV shows coming out next year in 2021, too.

Disney initially scheduled Loki for spring 2021, but production was halted as well.

As you might expect, this means its final release date remains unknown. 

Meanwhile, fans remain hopeful for the 2021 summer release of Marvel’s What If…?. 

In addition, Hawkeye (Fall 2021), and Monsters at Work (Spring 2021) are also expected to debut on Disney Plus next year.
