3 New Release Highlights Coming July 2020 on Disney+

Hamilton – July 3

The runaway, bestselling, hot ticket musical Broadway show Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Mirando (also in Mary Poppins Returns) is coming to television screens everywhere in July.

Originally, the televised version of the musical was supposed to come much later, but Disney called an audible.

Now, we will all get a chance to see Hamilton up close and personal from our very own couch.

Watch the Hamilton announcement with Lin-Manuel Miranda and Bob Iger below.

Solo: A Star Wars Story – July 10

[Source: Disney/Lucasfilm]

Though it wasn’t considered a huge hit at the movie theater box office, Solo: A Star Wars Story remains one of my personal favorite Star Wars releases.

As I’ve written elsewhere on this site, it’s basically Indiana Jones in Outer Space. Amazing, right? Well, there’s a sizable group that agrees and has been trying to get a Solo 2 sequel made for a while. Fingers crossed!

With the release of this installment of the Star Wars franchise, every single live-action movie or animated TV show is now on Disney Plus.

The full Skywalker Saga, all the animated Star Wars shows from Dave Filoni, the standalone Rogue One, and now…Solo.

Somehow, it’s fitting that the only movie remaining would be Solo, isn’t it?

In all seriousness, if you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, I highly recommend watching it as soon as it drops on July 10th.

Watch the Solo trailer below.

Muppets Now – July 31

[Source: Disney Plus]

Finally, we get to see the Muppets back on TV!

On ABC, we got to watch the Muppets do their thing for one season in 2015. But it didn’t last, and that was a huge shame, in my opinion, because they were really starting to hit their stride.

Now, all is well! Because we get the whole group back together doing what they do best in the all-new series, Muppets Now.

You can bet good money I’ll be glued to my TV as soon as it drops. Check back here for reviews of each episode.

Note: At time of publication, there is no video footage of Muppets Now.
